Dive Into Spain 2026

Description

⦁Walk and share moments of life with pilgrims on the Camino ⦁Serve in hospitality and/or practical work ⦁Pray with creative intercession ⦁Option for extended ministry in Spain

Requirements

Sharing the Gospel on the Camino: While the Camino has Catholic origins, today, many pilgrims come with diverse beliefs. It’s crucial for Divers to listen to the pilgrims first and share their own experiences, rather than forcefully presenting the Gospel. Since we often walk alongside the same pilgrims for several days, meeting them in various villages and hostels, and sharing meals together, there is ample time to share the Gospel naturally. In many cases, the pilgrims will even ask about it themselves. ◦ Accommodation: Divers will be staying in mixed dormitories, so applicants must be comfortable with this arrangement. ◦ Language: Divers must have a sufficient level of English or Spanish to participate in the team and attend online meetings. The supporting branches are responsible for assessing the language level (ideally B2 level). While English is the common language on the Camino, learning some Spanish before the trip can be helpful. ◦ Christian Faith & Health: Applicants should be Christians with a genuine interest in missions. Additionally, since the program involves walking an average of 25 km daily with backpacks, physical preparation is required. ◦ Dietary: Supporting branches must inform us of all dietary requirements when sending the profile and application form, so we can examine if they can be accommodated. ◦ Insurance: Having travel medical insurance or a European health card is obligatory. ◦ Vaccinations: None obligatory. ◦ Online Orientation: Once applicants are accepted, there will be online meetings before the trip (at least two times; the dates will be scheduled and shared later). The purposes of these meetings are to get to know each other, provide information and offer orientation.

Got any questions?

We've got answers!

How is WEC different from other missionary organizations?

Each missionary organization has its own identity, and none is necessarily better than another. What truly matters is finding a mission that aligns with your calling, your values, and the purpose God has placed in your heart.

At WEC, our focus is to bring the gospel to places where it has not yet been proclaimed. Everything we do, whether through short-term or long-term ministries, is aimed at seeing Christ-centered communities emerge among unreached peoples.

No matter how long you serve or what gifts, skills, and experiences you bring, your involvement will be part of a greater vision: to see disciples of Jesus raised up in places where the gospel is still unknown. That might mean going to remote regions, facing cultural challenges, or walking alongside local churches in difficult contexts.

Through partnerships with African churches, we seek to reach these hearts with the hope of Christ.

Is God calling you to be part of this mission?

What opportunities are there?

Currently, we have around 500 open opportunities to serve among unreached peoples. You can learn more by visiting our website.

Can I choose where I go?

Where you will serve and what your ministry will be are often two of the biggest questions people consider. We will work with you and your church to discern the direction the Lord is leading. At the same time, you need to carefully consider WEC as an organization and whether you and your church would be happy to partner with us.

What are the requirements for joining WEC?
